Emeralds Little Gems Stanley provides relaxing and comfortable nursery rooms for children in Stanley where children feel safe and confident, with high standards of resources to stimulate growing minds.

Our Facilities

We provide childcare to accommodate all needs, with full time, part time, & term time only places as well as flexible and shift places.

Our nursery operates from two buildings situated within 2 minute walk of each other. Stanley house is a purpose built setting in the One Point Centre, Clifford Road and Stanley House is our traditional property at 9 Thorneyholme Terrace. Both centres are located in the heart of Stanley town centre.

Stanley Centre

This is a purpose-built nursery on one level with a large open indoor space and adjoining outdoor space.

The Red Group (2 -3 years) and Orange Group (pre-school) are situated in this purpose-built nursery on one level with a large open indoor space and adjoining outdoor space. There is also a smaller room within this space that is used for children to do individualised or small group work, or just rest in a quieter space.

Children have the opportunity to explore and have open access to equipment which supports them in all seven areas of learning, alongside carefully planned activities and experiences which are set up daily to help children flourish and gain new skills.

The children also have open access to our outdoor area.

This room also has its own toileting and hand washing area where we can encourage children from an early age with good hygiene skills and toilet training when ready.

Stanley House

Stanley House is a traditional three storey building fully renovated and refurbished to provide excellent space and facilities. Centrally located the nursery is within minutes walking of the town centre, parks and woodlands areas.

TOP FLOOR

On the top floor we have a cosy, relaxing, designated sleeping area for our 2-3 year olds who still need a rest or sleep during the day.

We also have an area that can be used for meetings with professionals such as speech and language therapists, health visitors and portage.

FIRST FLOOR

On the first floor you will find the baby room, our Blue Group (0-2yrs) which has been designed with space for crawling, taking those wobbly first steps, offering opportunities for making lots of mess with baby friendly materials, having sensory experiences, freedom to explore the resources, have lots of cuddles and space for that much needed rest.

We have a designated sleep / quiet room where babies and young children can sleep and not be disturbed by other noise and daily routine.

This floor also has its own bathroom area where we can encourage children from a very young age with good hygiene skills and toilet training if appropriate.

The Nursery office is also situated on this floor.

GROUND FLOOR

The Pink Group (2 -3 years) are situated on the ground floor which is a large open space and leads to outside. Children have the opportunity to explore and have open access to equipment which supports them in all seven areas of learning, alongside carefully planned activities and experiences which are set up daily to help children flourish and gain new skills.

This room also has its own toileting and hand washing area where we can encourage children from an early age with good hygiene skills and toilet training when ready.

The Dining and Kitchen area is also on this floor and is appropriate for those all-important meal times. This space is also used by the children when doing baking and cooking activities.
